Jeff Cooper Interview

I first met Jeff Cooper at the Indidjinus Fest in Oregon a couple of years ago, and really liked the enthusiasm and style of his music.

Later, at the Jammin' Tree Didgefest in North Fork California, I enjoyed his performances, and participated in his workshop. He gave me a CD of his music collaborations, mp3, photos, etc. Later, we interviewed Jeff via the telephone, and mixed some of the music on that cd with the interview for broadcast on the FM radio program "Songs From a Hollow Log".

In this interview we primarily focus on contemporary didgeridoo, and the way Jeff has incorporated it into his music. There are examples of didj/hand drums as well as some examples of  Jeff and his projects combining the organic sound of the didj with electronic music.

Jeff also discusses his collaboration with a very talented and inspired vocalist...Sitka Wahkeena Tidepool Ripple....."Marko's Rap" combines didj, sweet vocals, rap, and female throat singing.....really amazing !

We also discuss the Portland Oregon music/didj scene with, the mix of techno/organic, and end with a cut where Jeff blends an Allen Watts monolog on dreaming combined with some inspired low key didj playing.
