Songs From a Hollow Log In Didj In Us Fest 2006 notes and photos |

Well...I finally got around to posting some photos and
commentary from the 2006 InDidjInUs fest in 5 Rivers When you enter, you are welcomed at the missinformation booth by Miss Information, who will help you find a campsite, food, friends.......
And like at most events with lots of people, some signs are needed, but here they are the friendliest and most helpful around.......
A map of the fest area helped newcomers to find their way around....
So here we have a view of the many didj folks who have arrived so far.......
As you can see, families are welcome, and there were lots of creative activities for the kids. (As if 3 days running around the woods wasn't enough activity for them!)
Of course there were workshops of all types and varieties, offered or requested at the Saturday morning Vision Council.......the only problem is, most of the people don't have a watch or clock, so it's kinda hard to set a schedule.......The answer? A Sun Clock of course!
In addition to the didj/dance/throatsinging/drumming/ and other great workshops, one that attracted a lot of attention was Antlers vegetable oil fuel truck. Not bio-desiel, this truck has a pump and filter system that will allow it to run straight from used cooking oil!
This is also where the awesome paint work to the Chad Mobile was created. Lewis Burns and friends working on the finishing touches.
Speaking of Lewis Burns, here he is playing didgeridoo with the traditional Australian Aboriginal dance group the Doonooch Dancers.
Ok Ok, I know you are probably wondering, " how's the food?" Well, there were tons of vegetarian food, and this was a great kitchen with great food, maybe the best kitchen and cooks I have experienced in my few years of InDidjInUs :) Thanks! Here is a photo of the kitchen, and another of the wood fired concrete/clay oven built by Chad and volunteers especially to help this land support community festing....
There was also plenty of time to enjoy the simple pleasures.....such as lying in the grass....the warm sunshine....and a group sonic didj massage.....give and receive...the spirit of this fest......
Well, I hope you enjoyed this little glimpse of the InDidjInUs festival. Maybe I'll see you there next year, namaste, robert
